429hp, fully loaded with more creature comforts than you could ever need, stately if nondescript looks, and reliability and maintenance costs that a German car could only dream of achieving. I’m not going to try and kid myself and say that this is as good of a car as an S-Class, but for !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! ? I know there are a few of you who will claim that these things are made of wax paper and melted Happy Meal toys and that I’d be better off with an old Chrysler Sebring for quality, but I honestly can’t see a downside to this as a comfy daily driver.

By the time we’re looking to buy, the new Genesis lineup will be out and I can only imagine prices for these will fall further still, if that’s even physical possible.

Bargain of the century. They’re only going to get cheaper and cheaper. And they’re far more reliable than a used S-Class or 7 series.

Engine still makes 400hp on 87 Octane too! Everyone completely misses how awesome that Tau is. If you were to place it into any other brands people would go crazy for it. I will say though that it’s way too much car and will feel out of date. You’ll end up wanting to downsize within 18 months. You should be able to find a 2015 Hyundai Genesis 5.0 Ultimate for the same price and that will be a much more modern car with similar value. Or split the difference with a Kia K900 which is another RWD, 400hp+ V8, overcontented luxury sedan for under $30k.

The K900 is out, neither of us cares for it. Genesis is a possibility. Also, 18 months is about how long these things usually last us anyway. Usually 18-28 months.

Well I’d also suggest looking into a 2013 Lexus GS350 and the Infiniti M56 (before it became the Q70 5.6L). I did an Automotive Reminder on that gem.

I can garuntee you maintenance is around the same as the germans. When shit broke on my sonata (which happened quite often) it’d be STUPID expensive, and Hyundai warranty goes out of their way to hire the meanest and most stone faced motherfuckers ever. Plus their dealers are not good.

Oh my goooooooood. Calling this thing as S-Class is too little. Its a freaking Maybach in ultimate trim! A 2012 Ultimate IS my next car, as soon as they hit $15,000. I always say that Hyundai makes the best Cadillac on the market, and this is why. Big V8, naturally aspirated, air ride all around...I’m getting chills thinking about it.

That’s the year to have, 2012. I did the research. 2011 had the 4.6 and by 2013 they had taken out the passenger rear extending footrest for cost reasons. So don’t buy a 2012...I lay claim to all of them until I buy one.
